| Introduction | I began my pursuit of a creative avocation in earnest subsequent to a career in commercial real estate in Washington, DC, spanning more than 15 years, which I left after the birth of my first child. I opened Spirit Trail Fiberworks in January, 2003, and have been a dyer for over 14 years, dyeing luxury yarns and fibers for textile artists. I also create one-of-a-kind, ready-to-wear hand-painted silk scarves, hand-dyed and hand-knit scarves and other hand-crafted accessories. My yarns and spinning fibers are available at various festivals, retail stockists, and online, and my ready-to-wear accessories are available for purchase at the gallery and shop connected to my studio, Blue Ridge Artisans. A native of Washington, DC, I've lived in a handmade house in the woods of Rappahannock County since 2004, with my husband, our two teenagers, multiple chickens and one gigantic dog. |
