Introduction Husband and I are parents to a beautiful and fiery tempered almost 6 yr old daughter. She is the love of our lives, but we desperately want another child, and she wants a sibling. We've been trying for over 3 yrs. Here’s what happened after surgery to remove adhesions from both my tubes. IVF #1 (July-Sept06) ended with discovery of a blighted ovum at 6 wks. Hopes for IVF#2 (Nov06) died when eggs and sperm failed to play nice (rescue ICSI, but no luck). For IVF#3 (Apr07), they did ICSI, but BFN. For IVF#4 we tried a minimal stim protocol and it ended with a chemical pregnancy. After a few months break we found a new doctor and 3 days after our consultation found out that we’d managed to get pregnant all on our own! Then another miscarriage. 2 months later I changed insurance and got us 3 more tries at IVF with 50% coverage. Insurance was wasted on IVF#5.1 (Mar08) - my ovaries failed to respond and the cycle was cancelled. IVF#5.2 (May08) seemed to go like clockwork, lots of eggs and enough fertilized that we made it to a 5 day transfer with 2 blastocysts AND had 3 to freeze. But my beta came back at a pitiful 9.69. Stick around it if you’re interested in what comes next!
