My blogs
| Introduction | If it's your day to post, by midnight of the day before class, add a “posting” of min. 350 words in which you engage with the reading for the day. These postings may be in more informal language than you would use in a paper (incomplete sentences, etc., are OK), but should be thoughtful and well-considered. The two main requirements are that you (1) comment on at least one *specific passage* or lines from the day’s reading, cited by page if relevant, and (2) develop some broader analysis about the day’s reading as a whole. You may: pose questions for the class; draw connections to previous readings or discussions; comment on something you find confusing or provocative in the reading; etc. Then, in class, you will be expected to explain what you wrote about, and otherwise to be “on” as a discussion leader for the day. (If you miss class, you do not get full credit for the posting). Any additional blogging is optional, but can be a good way to contribute further to the class. I encourage anyone who likes to add extra blog postings -- it's a great way for me to see what people are interested in and thinking about. Please use "commenting" only for very brief responses. |
