OccupationState Representative
LocationRush Springs, Oklahoma, United States
IntroductionI'm the State Representative for House District 65 in Oklahoma. That area takes in the communities of Apache, Boone, Cement, Cyril, Elgin, Fletcher, Ninnekah, Rush Springs, Sterling and parts of Chickasha, Lawton, Marlow and Anadarko. I also have Fort Sill as part of the district, so there are many military folks that travel through our area. I also teach classes on parliamentary procedure and the legislative process, so if you have a group that wants to learn more, you found the right person. I still assist the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature in activities also. Cowboys basketball is my passion. The allegations that I bleed ORANGE are true. I also do a few fantasy football and basketball leagues for fun with friends. I take my job serious, but I'm even more serious about my friendships. It's hard to find good friends and I've been blessed with many. I'm a single, straight man looking for my soul mate. Until then, I date around (as long as it doesn't conflict with the politics thing and OSU events and Monday Night Football). Not in any rush to get hitched. I've waited 36 years, so no point in hurrying now. I'm a Methodist and active in several civic organizations.
InterestsI mentioned them in the about me section, so go back and read it! The top interest - OSU Basketball! Go Pokes!
Favorite moviesThe Wind and the Lion (one of the greatest films of all time), The Blues Brothers, Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Tin Cup, Animal House, Young Guns, Blaze, Tombstone and The Usual Suspects (if you like this last one, check out Lucky Number Slevin)
Favorite musicBUFFETT!!! Red Dirt County of all kinds, U2, Bon Jovi, Hank Jr., Kidd Rock's country songs, Gary P. Nunn, Jerry Jeff Walker, Django Walker, Garth Brooks (God Bless Chris LeDoux!) and the list goes on. In college, I was a Glasshouse follower, so if you liked them, catch Jenny Labow, the Plumbers and Radio Radio. I've also gotta make a plug for my cousins: If you live in Austin, check out Chad Dorman and if you are in Chickasha, Ryan Dorman plays at various places.
Favorite booksI used to collect comic books. Make all the jokes you want. Now most of my reading centers on legislation and ideas for bills. The best book ever written though was the Good Book! The world would be a better place if a few more people read it and practiced what it truly states, not what all too many people misinterpret for their own agendas.
