About me

Location Tyler, Texas
Introduction I am the founder and president of The Center for Literate Values (www.literatevalues.org), a 501c3 tax-exempt charity. The Center's board comprises educators who are concerned about their profession's neglect of and contempt for the Western tradition, including the Christian faith and the "dead white male" canon. My "Blog of Virtues" ran on The Center's site for years: old posts can be accessed through the "President's Blog" tab on its site. I have a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature (Classics major) and have published several books and articles (see The Center's links to "free books" and "e-books"). I've never been a good fit as an academic, howeever. I intensely dislike coffee, donuts, meetings, titles, processions, empty jargon, and endless gab. I'd rather tend my fruit trees and pitch batting practice to my son--a thousand times! I'm a lifetime switch-hitter/pitcher, and I've been making my own facsimiles lately of Dead Ball Era bats. I believe in the God All-Good whose embers are hidden in every human being--not in an inscrutable Moloch arbitrarily declaring good and evil in a book whose code is known to a select few. ***** CONTACT ME at semperluxmundi@yahoo.com.
