Introduction My name is Lim Zhuo Ren. When I was 7, I saw my father teaching my mother chess and I was hooked. I asked him to teach me and I only played with my very patient father every day until I was 10 when he sent me off to a local chess club. Had my first taste of tournament chess at 10 where I won RM60. Celebrated it by treating family to dinner that night. The RM60 wasn’t enough but I learnt the value of gratitude. I almost quit after suffering heartache in the National Championships in 2009, only to bounce back by winning the 2011th edition. A friend described it as a “LaZaRus effect” in medicine. The 3 syllables of Lazarus start with LZR which are my initials. Currently, I am a Malaysian Chess FM and I have one IM norm from the 2012 Chess Olympiad. This blog is for people below IM level who want to improve at chess. For more details, see my first ever post https://lazaruschess.blogspot.my/2016/07/why-i-started-this-blog-this-is-my.html
