Introduction Geo Wyeth (fka Novice Theory) is a musician and performing artist whose work illicits tangible emotion and points at its own face in the mirror. He fronts an experimental rock band called JIVE GRAVE. Performances engage the audience & surrounding space in a confrontational dialogue incorporating elements of storytelling and minstrelsy. Themes have included: ancestor worship, ecstatic & lucid human interaction, the pitfalls of American nostalgia, queer/transgender subjectivities & relationships, cloaked identities, and death. Geo has been recognized by the New Yorker, The New York Times, The Village Voice, Time Out New York for his various performance projects. He has shared the stage with such visionary artists as Justin Bond, Taylor Mac, and Peggy Shaw. He has also collaborated extensively with experimental composer Jules Gimbrone, and choreographers Jen Rosenblit, Elizabeth Ward, and Eiko & Koma. Geo is currently his upcoming full length vinyl release ALIEN TAPES, out on Brooklyn label PACK in July 2011. He graduated from Yale in 2007 and lives and works in New York City.
