We are part of a global movement of over 2.8 million people working in more than 150 countries around the world. We take action for the victims of US torture cells in Guantánamo and of state sponsored violence in Zimbabwe. We campaign for the right to mental health in Ireland and for the right to free speech in China, for equality in Irish law for LGBT people and to defend condemned prisoners on death row in Iran. We are independent of any political ideology, economic interest or religion. We do not support or oppose any government or political system. Our sole concern is the protection of the fundamental human rights guaranteed to each one of us by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
