| Introduction | Welcome to My Civil War Obsession. I am Richard McCormick II and I started this blog to explore the Civil War and why it fascinates me so much. I have a B.A. in History from the University of Kentucky. I have volunteered at the James A. Ramage Civil War Museum in Fort Wright, Kentucky since 2006 and have been on the museum's Board of Directors since 2008. I also serve on the boards for the Campbell County Historical and Genealogical Society (since 2011) and a newer group, the Cynthiana Battlefields Foundation since 2016. I also help with the running of the annual Northern Kentucky Regional History Day, which has taken place every spring since 1994. I enjoy learning about the Civil War, local history and genealogy and try to use this platform to find new and interesting stories to share or to help develop my own opinions and beliefs. Any opinion I share here is my own, and does not represent the thoughts of the groups for which I volunteer. |
