Introduction I am a Professor of Fire Technology at Santa Ana College (SAC) and have often been accused of being a fire prevention geek. I began my career with the fire service in 1987. Professionally, I served as Fire Protection Analyst for the City of Costa Mesa. Other assignments included Fire Protection Specialist, Fire Education Specialist and PIO. I became the Fire Officer Coordinator at SAC in 1996. Today, I teach a wide range of entry level courses including: Introduction to Fire Protection; Fire Behavior, Fire Protection Systems and Equipment and Fire Prevention Technology. I also teach the advanced CSFM classes: Fire Prevention 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B and Public Education. I am a frequent speaker at both Education and Fire Service related conferences. Past conferences have included: On-Course National Conference; NFPA Fire & Safety Expo Mexico City, Mexico; CA Fire Prevention Officers Workshop; NFPA World Conference; Fire Rescue West; American Association of Higher Education National Conference; California Fire Chiefs Conference.
