Introduction I just feel like writing instead of only pretending to write literary shot stories in my head. Trying to unscramble the murky conceits that function as fragile prayers in my troubled life.
Interests Walking; Exploring the forest; Trying to fall in love w/reading novels again (failing); Most guys w/ with cool glasses & beards; Every issue of The New Yorker from the 1980s, I still for the decade that Ann Beattie was still cool & I still cared, and finally, becoming happy in this very moment and not waiting til the stars line up right to feel joy.
Favorite Movies Woody Allen, esp. "Hannah and Her Sisters": "Requiem for a Dream" ; "Jesus' Son"; "Drugstore Cowboy"; "Taxi"; "St. Elmo's Fire"; "Clueless;" "The Color Purple"; "Winter's Bone"; "Thirteen"; and "Mean Girls."
Favorite Music Avenging Annie--the Andy Pratt version; I still love the Beastie Boys and have since I was 12; MGMT; Big Star; Old Aerosmith, Led ("Come from the land of the ice and snow..."), Cypress Hill, Fugazi, and the perfect, heartbreaking, lullaby, "Life in a Northern Town"
Favorite Books I no longer read like I used to. I have read two books cover to cover in the past year. With or Without You (mother daughter memoir, Mass. setting) and I Want to Show You More, elitist writer, short stories, not a fan. Rereading VC Andrew outta desperation. Love blogs like, Strawberry Fields Whatever. Like Warhol said (or I tihnk he said), I like pictures better than books at this point. Addiction to the Internet will ruin everybody, including me, the once literary girl in love with every poetic analogy thinking they made me closer to God.Now I am closer to Candy Crush and my next lonley FB status update.
