Introduction	My name is Kelly Jo Mitchell. I am based in the greatest city in the Midwest, Minneapolis. The city with elevated streets in the sky, that more often than not, confuse me. But I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, with no streetlights and a great family. I have a handful of amazing friends; too many memories, some mistakes and always a song that will tell you a little bit about the good and the bad. Did I mention I have a great family? I write music because my mind would overflow with a useless jumble of words if kept it all in. I write music because I can. I pound on the keys of my Yamaha P60 at odd hours of the night and hope my neighbors won’t mind. I wrote my first song Heaven Filled With Gold for a teacher who inspired to me to pursue music when I was 14. I have been playing ever since. I play simple chords with simple melodies because it makes sense to me. And now, I want to share with you the process-- uncensored-- they call making a CD after spending a year making my second one, Kelly Jo Mitchell, Smile.
