Introduction I'm an American girl who married a boy from Barcelona, and we live in Belgium. I'm a scholar, poet, editor, translator, and mom to three young boys. "Cant d'ocell" means birdsong, and is the Catalan translation of my last name. This blog is about life abroad, languages, travel, food, poetry, and anything else worth a bit of thought.

I never needed arrows in the first place, preferring to find poetry in the arc of the bent wood and music in plucking its string.
