| Introduction | Hello, Friends. I'm Dolores Cruz, a retired elementary school teacher turned writer and poet. When my 24-year-old son was killed in a car accident in May of 2017, the world as I knew it came to a crashing end. As if I had been shot out of a cannon, I was catapulted into the deepest grief I had ever known. Little did I know that a new journey had begun. And that journey began to write itself down, in bits and pieces, onto scraps of paper and into journals and word documents. That journey was even put into a book entitled "Look Around; A Mother's Journey from Grief and Despair to Healing and Hope." And so here I find myself. This blog is a place for me to express all that I have discovered...about life...about death...about God...about me...and about Love. I share these words, these thoughts, with you.
