Introduction	I am a 45 year-old journalist for the German edition of Mojo Magazine ('Der Mojo'). I have lived and worked my whole life on the fringes of the music scene and I take great pride in focusing only on those heroic bands who, either through a chronic lack of self-awareness or an embarrassing surfeit of self-assuredness, continue to grope ever onwards in search of fame, fortune and wild adulation. Pointlessly. I have been commissioned by my editor to accompany post-punk anti-heroes the Nightingales on their latest - and biggest ever - tour of the UK (and Ireland.) I do not personally like Mr Robert Lloyd's bilious lyrics, but I respect his dogged pursuit of a decent pint of whisky and am intrigued by the bunch of hapless losers with which he chooses to surround himself. This may well prove to be my most difficult and rewarding assignment yet. We shall see.
