Introduction A native Newfoundlander, I studied Safety Engineering at Humber College in Ont. graduating in '88. Returning home I joined Fishery Products as a Safety Coordinator in Western NL. After 1 year, I joined Canada Post in '89 as a Safety Officer in St. John's, NL. In '93 we moved back to Western NL spending 7 yrs in Stephenville. I managed S'villes Mail Ops, then Western NL Mail Ops, and then NL Field Ops. In 2000 I moved back to St. John's as Manager St. John's Ops with responsibility for the Mail Processing Plant and the city's Collection and Delivery Ops. I switched jobs in '04 as Process Excellence Advisor to NL Ops and enrolled in the Canada Post/Rath and Strong 2 yr Lean Black Belt Program. After an 8 month stint as Acting Director of Newfoundland Mail Operations, I returned to the Advisor role in May'06. In Nov.'06 I left Canada Post and started Hogan Business Improvements offering consulting services in Lean Manufacturing. I also work with Weather Shore Windows in Trepassey, NL, Barret Lumber Company in Beaver Bank, NS, and Business Development Bank in St. John's, NL implementing lean strategies in manufacturing operations.
