Introduction	In 2007, our beautiful son Casey was born. Shortly after birth, his skin began to blister. It was during this time that we found out he had a genetic skin disease called Epidermolysis bullosa. To make the explanation simple, his body does not produce collagen which makes the anchoring fibrils that hold your skin layers together. With any friction, the layers of his skin shift and fluid builds up under them causing painful blisters. This can occur on the external skin as well as the mouth and GI tract. We also have two other beautiful children...Zachary who is 9 and Becky who is 18 months old. They are three of the most beautiful children inside and out and through this blog I hope to raise awareness of Casey's disease and keep you posted on our family's progress.
