| Introduction | I was born in a small New England town where the voter roll is about 2,500. I lived in 10 states the first 7 years of my marriage to a manufacturing manager. We affectionately call that time our "corporate merry-go round". Then we ended up here in North Carolina and we stayed because of the mild weather with four distinct seasons and the golfing year-round for my husband. I have extensive flower and vegetable gardens, and I would rather be in my gardens than anywhere in the world. We've been here since 1985 and we have lived a lot of "country life" and we've been through many jobs and changes in our lives. |

The other day I was asked if I was "local" and I hesitated. How long do you have to live in one town before you can answer "YES?"
