Introduction My book, HEALING POWER BEYOND MEDICINE, will finally be published in 2010 by O-Books. I received a PhD in Health Education and completed a postdoc in Clinical Psychology at the University of Utah. Before teaching at the university level, I taught English, grades 7-9. For nearly ten years I have a Vajrayana practitioner in the Karma Kagyu Buddhist tradition, the lineage of the great yogi Milarepa, which is now headed by His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje. I took refuge from him on his first visit to the United States in 2003 and traveled on pilgrimage to India, Nepal and Bhutan in 2005 and 2008 in order to receive further teachings and empowerments from him. I have three children: Chelsey (son-in-law Brian and his son Tallin), Lindsey (fiance Peter Colby), and Colby (daughter-in-law Sarah). My first grandchild, Cicily Diane, was born in February 2009 and my second grandchild, Braxton Paul Stahle, was born in June, 2009. My other grandchildren are Labradors Bella and Lola and a RagaMuffin cat, Taz, who acts like a dog.
