| Introduction | Dear Reader, I have lived some 81 years and have an eye and ear for the scenes and sounds and the humor and pathos that have intersected my life. I am a retired physician and before these events are lost with my passing, I decided to put them in a chronicle so my children and grandchildren could recall and remember me telling them these events. I don’t use crude or profane language to offend the reader but to relate the episodes as they occurred to me or to the people whose voices told me the stories. While the majority of these accounts are personal to me you as readers may have had some similar personal experiences. Though I am Black, this not a Black book but a chronicle of my life’s experiences. Because this is a true and honest account of my life as an old mind can recollect and to avoid embarrassment to any individual I have not used real names, at times, to protect the privacy of those living or dead. |
