| Introduction | This blog initially started out after I moved to the DC-area from the American wine epicenter of California. I decided I wanted to get serious in my interest in wine, and thought that blogging about it would be a good way to do it. This lead me to get involved with a Virginia winery working part-time, first in the tasting room and then in the cellar helping with wine production. Life has now found me in Portland, OR pursuing work in the wine industry full-time. I spent the 2009 harvest working my butt off as a cellar hand in the Willamette Valley, and am currently attending classes in a winemaking program and looking for full-time employment in the cellar (hopefully eventually moving up to assistant winemaker then winemaker). It seemed to be a good time to resurrect the blog to write about my new experiences. |
