| Introduction | Growing up in a family of 10 in California in the 1950s, I was nurtured in a Dutch Calvinist home that ran on lots of love and discipline. Daily reading of the old KJV Bible (including odd phrases like "he that pisseth against a wall") at meals and vigorous singing of hymns around the piano have implanted the words of faith in me; and as I age, the roots go deeper. Knowing God is everything.
