| Introduction | Mike and Heather McAfee were married on December 16, 1995. We have three kids. Caleb is 16, Karis is 14, Benjamin is 6 and Ty is 1. We are serving the Lord as missionaries in West Africa. We have been assigned the task of Urban Church Planting in a city of around 6 million! Pray for us as we tackle this and pray about how God might involve you in the work here! If you think that we've lost our minds, I'd say you're not too far off. Really what we've sought to lose is our desire to live our lives for ourselves. Luke 9:23-26 is Jesus talking and he says, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels." In light of that, when the Lord called us, we followed. I count it an honor and privilege to lay down my life for the one who laid down His life for me! |
