About me

Introduction Recognized as one of the most outspoken yet fair commentators on the world of NASCAR, Jerry Bonkowski has had a long and successful career in the world of sports. Starting as a 16-year-old high school junior, Jerry has spent the last 35 years covering everything from the NFL to MLB, NBA to NHL, PGA to college sports -- and everything in-between. But it has been the world of motorsports, particularly NASCAR, that has been Jerry's passion for the past 20-plus years. Included in Jerry's career was a 15-year tenure (1982 to 1997) at USA Today (primarily covered motorsports), 3 1/2 years as ESPN.com's National NASCAR Columnist (2001 to mid-2004) and 4 1/2 years as Yahoo Sports' National NASCAR Columnist (mid-2004 to the end of 2008). Jerry is now an editor for FanHouse.com (AOL Sports) and a frequent on-air personality on Sirius NASCAR Radio (Channel 128), giving his take on all things NASCAR.
