| Introduction | I began meditating at the age of 6. At the age of 12, I tried to take my life a few times, but the second time I knew that I would "find the other children like me". In 2000 I was studying my degree in psychology, wishing to demonstrate my theory of the "blue children" and the "human r-evolution". Although the research was to demonstrate the presence of such children in recent times, the proto-type for my research was of course my self! In 2001, at the age of 21, I met a spiritual guy with whom I shared my "hypothesis" regarding the children. He said, "You sound like one of those indigo babes" and offered me a website address. I literally cried tears of happiness upon reading this confirmation. Being of the first wave of indigo children, born in 1979, I am a "First Waver". We were still quite rare then. By 1984 the majority of children were "new kids". I have learnt much as an indigo growing up on planet earth. What it's like being an indigo in the schooling, mental health, family, and religious systems, and now work for and on behalf of indigo--indeed all children--everywhere.
