Introduction | Russell Johnson is an Arizona native landscape artist. Through painting, drawing, and photography he finds outlets to release expressions of a mysterious landscape. Russell exhibits his work at the Frame & I Gallery in Prescott, AZ where he actively participates in shows. Russell has acquired his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arizona in May of 2003. He recently completed a Masters of Arts (Visual Arts) degree at Prescott College in 2011. Russell grew up in Prescott, AZ and enjoyed the closeness of the outdoors. Today, he is an avid hiker, seeking out trails to explore. On these explorations, Russell photographs and sketches subjects for future paintings. Some of his favorite places to hike include: the Grand Canyon, Lockett Meadow, Clear Creek, Wet Beaver Creek, Fossil Creek, Spruce Mountain, Thumb Butte, Granite Mountain, Lynx Lake, Watson Lake, and the Granite Dells to name a few.
