Introduction CONTACT: saucenine@yahoo.com************* Suzanne Broughel is a multidisciplinary artist exploring issues of race. Sifting through history, popular culture and autobiography, she looks at our present moment – post Civil Rights, with our first Black President, yet lacking true equality as sought by social movements of the 60s and 70s. Her work has been exhibited at P.S. 1/MOMA, Marlborough Gallery, The University of Memphis, Rush Arts Gallery, and Longwood Art Gallery, among other spaces. She was a 2008 participant at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, as well as the Emerge Program at Aljira Center for Contemporary Art. Broughel is the recipient of fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts and A.I.R. Gallery.
