Introduction I grew up in a typical patriarchal traditional Catholic household in rural upstate New York. I made my way to a liberal arts college and shed my repressive upbringing as best I could, becoming the progressive activist I am today. I am a religious seeker. While living in a Buddhist monastery in Nepal as part of my dissertation research and my lifelong search for the Sacred, I realized that the solution wasn't to leave my faith tradition, but to try to change an institution that leads to so much misery and suffering because of its repressive androcentric nature. I was ordained a Transitional Deacon in December 2007. I am working toward the priesthood, and am moving to Knoxville, TN to take a teaching post in 2008.
