| Introduction | Sometimes you love a book series, and sometimes you fall in love with one. My relationship with His Dark Materials and The Book of Dust - not to mention Philip Pullman in general - is very much the second. There is sincere infatuation. As I fancy myself a Jordan Scholar, this infatuation is inspiring a blog, a book of scholarly criticism, and hopefully a YouTube channel at some point. And I suppose I should also mention - if that Golden Compass movie test/quiz from many years ago is in any way accurate - my daemon is a snow leopard named Anthora, which is perfectly cool with me. For the purposes of this blog, I'm also claiming Scholastic Sanctuary. |
