| Introduction | I'm a retired graphics designer, commercial artist, creative director and yes; a car salesman. Twenty eight years devoted to the Commercial Arts field. Designing for a multitude of clients and advertising agencies. Tough I went to college to further my education in Art; most of my skill is self taught. Schools back home had no classes in art. There was however a wonderful lady by the name of Evelyn Kincer that made a big impact on my life. She loaned me some books about three great men who drew some wonderful pictures and even some whittlin' on rocks. I done some whittlin' on wood... but rocks! I never could figure what kinda knife you could whittle a rock with. Any how... these three guys became my heroes as far as Artist were concerned. I read those books cover to cover absorbing all I could. The pictures are what caught my eye as I studied them in minute detail over and over again. I finally decided to try my hand at emulating these new found mentors and wallah! Practice, practice, practice, that is the key. Draw what you train your eyes to see! Oh, the three guys; Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Norman Rockwell. |
