| Introduction | A Little About Me After many years in the Pastoral Ministry, my husband and I retired from Houston, TX to a farm in central Texas. Is it a farm or is it a ranch? Seems nowadays, five acres make a ranch. I somehow think a ranch needs to be a bit larger than our 90 acres, so we have named it 7F Farm. We raise cows, horses, goats, chickens, ducks, and guineas. We have a stubborn donkey named Fluffy. Her main purpose in life is to scare away the coyotes. Our favorite activity is early morning sitting on the back porch with coffee while we watch the farm animals wake up. Early, the guineas begin to chatter and then leave the treetops. The livestock guard dog, Hans, walks the perimeter of the goat pen and the goats come out. The ducks begin to leave the pond area looking for breakfast and the cow dogs (?) start their day of barking at everything. Before the raccoons got the rooster, he crowed. I've lived in several different states, but Texas is home to me - heat and all. Blessedly, we do not have mosquitoes. |
