| Introduction | I am a psychoanalyst, and marriage and family therapist in private practice in Venice, California. I work with adults, children, families, and mother/infant dyads. In addition, I am an Infant Mental Health Specialist, and was certified through the Early Childhood Center Foundation Infant Mental Health Specialist Training Program at Cedars/Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. I am currently teaching for the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis Extension Program and have served on the faculty of the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center and the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute. I co-authored, “I’ll Never Do to My Kids What My Parents Did to Me! " A Guide to Conscious Parenting (Warner Books, 1994) and developed a model for parent education called The Parenting Process, which incorporates analytic ideas as well as those from neurobiology, and infant research. |
