| Introduction | Now that the internet has grown exponentially with the inclusion of social media, we as occupants of the planet must begin to think more globally. Who could have imagined when we entered the electronic age that information and ideas could be shared within seconds? While I understand that there be may be information overload, I believe what information I share in the small space that I occupy on the world-wide-web will not have a substantial a huge impact on how people think or feel. However, my thought is that everyone is important and whatever conversation he or she would like to add to the global community should be shared. It doesn't matter whether one agrees or disagrees, the point is, freedom of speech and expression should be embraced as long as it is not harmful, hurtful or shameful to others. Even if one disagrees on controversial topics, please disagree and create dialogue, but resort to threats or bullying because it reduces the exchange of ideas to nothing more than white-noise.
