| Introduction | Top 5 movies: Blues Brothers: There are few comedies which I can rewatch and still be amused by is few and far between. It's probable that I've seen the theatrical cut of this over twenty times. Charade: This movie works on so many levels. The banter between Hepburn and Grant is sweet and fun to watch, the rogue's list is memorable, and Walter Mathhau is at the top of his game. It's a comedy, it's a romance, it's a thriller. Django: Pure badassery from open to close, and the best theme song to any movie. Ever. A coffin full of death, indeed. Poseidon Adventure: It's a disaster movie, sure, and death abounds, but the key to this movie is that the filmmakers remember it's an adventure. There is exploration, problem solving, and a race to the finish, in addition to fun performances from some of the greatest B-list actors from the 1970's. Trees Lounge: Sometimes the character IS the plot. Steve Buscemi did triple duty on this one, writing, directing and starring as a man looking for purpose in his life outside his local bar. |
