Introduction | Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Abi Hercules is a London girl born and bred; as her song goes, she’s ‘thin and quite tall, I’m a Skinny Bitch!’ peach boy is her new project. After two self-produced, albums recorded with her supporting band The Easy Tigers and after a creative pause and experiences to fuel her creativity, Abi is back and her music is taking a new direction. For a new sound, Abi headed stateside to collaborate with producers Arthur Pingrey (Sia, Sting and Anohni) and Hakan Mavruk (Queen Latifah, J Holiday, King Los). Abi is enjoying bringing her influences of early soul, reggae and 80’s electronica together to create a more gritty, punchy and sometimes filmic backdrop to her storytelling. ‘Hercules’ storytelling and delivery suggests that Joni Mitchell may have been a formative influence, but the songs feel original and personal. Major labels spend a lot of cash promoting lesser acts – so take a listen.’ Guitar & Bass Review With characteristically strong, ‘English’ vocals, peach boy is a warrior and these new tunes pack a punch. |
