| Interests | I am eagerly seeking a classroom teacher position in grades 1 through 6 in the Pioneer Valley and surrounding area. While finishing my M.A.T. degree at Smith College, I am currently student teaching in 5th grade at the Smith College Campus School. I also have experience student teaching in 1st grade at Maple Elementary in Easthampton, as well as leading a team of 3rd grade students in Springfield's Project Coach program. I was born in Blue Hill, Maine, and have lived in Western Massachusetts since attending Hampshire College 2007-2011. Since graduation, I have worked in a range of social service and youth work positions, including Program Supervisor of Not Bread Alone free community meal program in Amherst, Family Outreach Caseworker at Family Outreach of Amherst, and Therapeutic Counselor at Pathways After-School Program. My personal interests include gardening, spending time outdoors, visiting oceans and lakes, and learning about the natural environment. Music has been a central part of my life since childhood, and I play several instruments, including clarinet, guitar, concertina, and Irish penny whistle. I love incorporating music, art, and nature into the classroom as frequently as possible. |
