| Introduction | My name is Alison, but my grandma called me Alison Lea. I am more than 30 but less than 40. I started this blog because the reasons to do it were greater than the reasons not to. For example, I wanted my parents and my husband's parents to be able to keep up with their grandchildren. Also, through extensive online research (or reading a couple of my friends' blogs) I learned that having a super interesting life to write about is not crucial to starting a blog. I also learned that being a mother with young children brings with it a few universal truths: 1. Becoming a mother is a greater joy than I could have ever imagined. 2. Changing diapers nonstop for 5 1/2 years takes a toll on you. Sometimes a girl just needs someone to talk to about it. In lieu of that, I am writing a blog. I have been blessed with a beautiful house in Texas with a big front porch that houses my 3 amazing children, my husband of 10 years, and me. Our favorite place to hang out is our porch. It has seen snow cones and skinned knees, laughter and tears. It's where I play with my kids, drink a beer with my husband, and chat with my friends. So, pull up a rocker and join me. |
