| Introduction | The Direct Action Centre for Peace and Memory (DACPM) is a non-profit peace and human rights organization based in Cape Town, South Africa. We at the DACPM envision a world in which the historical, structural, and systematic injustices of post-conflict communities are adequately commemorated, addressed, and transformed, thus ensuring greater peace and human security for all. Our mission is to reduce the violence against men, women and children through education, psycho-social and economic development, and advocacy efforts. We specifically focus on: • Educating publicly against war and social violence through peace-building trainings • Raising awareness on issues of social inequality and social justice through commemorative excursions and actions • Improving the capacity of black men who have been directly affected by political violence in South Africa to address the manifold challenges facing them, their families and their communities |
