Introduction	I have been an ethnographic conservator for 15 years in museums in the UK and New Zealand. My main interest is in the material culture of the Pacific. I've been Deputy Head of Conservation at the Pitt Rivers Museum, University of Oxford, for four years. For the next two years, starting in January 2012, I will be the Clothworkers' Senior Conservation Fellow and will be conserving and investigating the Cook-Voyage collections at the Pitt Rivers
