| Introduction | I am a library media specialist for two elementary schools in Kentucky. Previously I taught seventh grade language arts. I also have worked in college administration developing diversity education programs for classes and student groups. I have also taught high school and college-level English. In addition to my busy professional life, I am married to my wonderful husband, Rob. Together we are raising a rambunctious 6-year old and an ever-changing 14-month old. Through them and reading PDs, I have been reintroduced to children's literature. Not only is it a joy to see my 6-year-old's imagination grow as she is introduced to classic children's literature and newer literature, I am absolutely blown away with her capability to read it and understand it on her own. I love being the mother of an excited reader! I only hope my youngest loves it as much as her big sister. |
