| Introduction | I am a registered nurse who has been on a long health journey since a mysterious health crash in 2011. Along the way, I have received many diagnostic labels, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS), and Protein-losing Gastroenteropathy. In recent years, I have learned that I have multiple genetic SNP's that impact my functional health, as well as mycotoxicity, chronic EBV inflection, and MARCoNS. Since 2013, I have been implementing nutritional and lifestyle therapies, along with allopathic and functional medicine approaches, to address my chronic health problems. Although the journey is ongoing, I have seen a good deal of success in improving my functional status through the GAPS diet, ketogenic diet, and other paleo-based dietary measures. Over the first few years of introducing the GAPS diet, I went from about 30% functional status, to about 80%. My blog is meant to share some things I've learned along the way, as well as new recipes I'm enjoying. Enjoy! |
