Introduction	Anna and me have upgraded and extended a 1960s bungalow using strawbales - aiming for a comfortable, low consumption home, trying to use only the most sustainable materials. We moved in June 2014. It's working well, but there's still lots to do. I'm now studying at the Centre for Alternative Energy on MSc Sustainability Adaptation and the Built Environment Prior to all this I was a potter and massage therapist. I plan to return to potting in some form, once I've figured out how to reconcile it with sustainable, low-consumption living. Previously, I fired my pots in a wood-fuelled anagama kiln, fired with waste wood from sawmills. This will probably be very different when I start again This blog is about all of the above and any associated issues I feel like writing about.
