| Introduction | My name is Mariellen. I'm 27 and I live in East Wakefield, NH. I'm passionate about running, hiking, biking...basically anything outdoors My main love is running though. When I was in high school my parents made me join the spring track team my freshman year. The first 2 weeks I hated it and I wanted to quit, but I stuck with it. By the summer I was addicted and couldn't wait to start the fall cross country season. Since then I've been able to use running as a way to relieve stress and set some pretty cool goals for myself. After I graduated from Plymouth State I started training for my first marathon. After my first marathon I decided I wanted to train for more marathons. Currently I've run 3 official marathons, several half marathons and a bunch of smaller races (5ks and 10ks). A couple years ago I was introduced to ultra running after I read an article in a running magazine. Since reading this article I have become fascinated with the idea of running beyond the distance of a marathon. My goal before I turn 30 is to run an ultra. This goal is SO scary to me right now, but it is also very exciting. |
