Introduction I am a Ph.D student at the University of Helsinki, Finland, The Department of World Cultures (Institutum Classicum). My dissertation, which is conducted under supervision of professor Olli Salomies, adjunct professor Antero Tammisto and adjunct professor Kalle Korhonen, deals mainly with the sleeping arrangements in the Roman house (working title: Cubiculi et lectuli operta prodentur - Sleeping areas and sleeping arrangements in the Roman house). I have acquainted myself with Pompeian studies especially by working as a research assistant in Pompeii with the Finnish project (Expeditio Pompeiana Universitatis Helsingiensis, http://www.helsinki.fi/hum/kla/epuh/). During 08/09-07/10 I worked at the Finnish Institute for Classical Studies in Rome (Institutum Romanum Finlandiae) and from August 2010 on I have continued my studies in Helsinki.
