| Introduction | This year, my work has mainly revolved around my love of books; People don't seem to enjoy reading anymore and this breaks my heart.
There seems to have been a gradual phasing out of books, thanks in part, to eBook readers, such as Barne's & Noble's Nook and Amazon's Kindle, which have revolutionised the way we read, yes, but also managed to cast serious doubts over the future of book production. I was also interested in looking at the way books have become mass produced and seem less special, as the process of making books has changed dramatically over the years. Throughout the year, my work has become progressively more personal, as my experiences with books all stem from my family. The last few pieces of work I produced were heavily focused on family and the effect their emphasis on reading has managed to have on me. |
