| Introduction | I live with a roommate, 2 cats, a dog, and my mom, who turned 91 on Valentine's day '08 and is the inspiration for this blog. Motherhood has brought me boundless joy--thank you, Alison. And be prepared--someday you may be the one writing posts about me. |
| Interests | Read, write, repeat |
| Favorite movies | The Big Chill, Waiting for Guffman, Sometimes a Great Notion, Love and Pain and the Whole Damn Thing, The Great Escape, African Queen, and there are more. |
| Favorite music | '60s Motown, REM, Anne Murray, Jim Croce, Harmony (Mary and Robert Gillihan and Dave Smith), Willie Nelson, and so much more. |
| Favorite books | How about favorite authors? Bill Bryson, for instance. And Elizabeth Berg, who I'd like to invite over for dinner. And Haven Kimmel, who I thought I would like but I've heard she's snippy. And Margaret Atwood. Annie Dillard, Colleen McCollough (that isn't spelled right--I'm going to go look it up). |
If you were a pirate, how would you avoid laughing when saying 'poop deck'?
There's no way I could, or would, avoid laughing. First of all, I love the word poop. Secondly, I think it would be pretty funny to be a 60 year old female, anglo-saxon, pirate. If I didn't want to laugh, I'd have to substitute another word for poop, like doo-doo.
