| Introduction | I am a womenswear designer with a strong understanding of garment construction, fabric knowledge and trend influences. Specialising in marketing has highlighted the importance of consumer needs and market awareness, which are key elements in regards to fulfilling the needs of a client and adapting my design skills to suit various commercial environments. I have just completed a four year BA in Fashion Design and Marketng at the University of East London. Beforehand, i studied foundation at the London College of Fashion. I have undertaken a 9 month placement as a design assistant with Blue Nile, a supply company for Topshop, Asos and River Island. My role included fabric sourcing, designing placement pieces using embellishment, meeting with buyers and trend research. My professional approach and dedication to my placement led to sponsorship of fabric and embellishment for my final collection, which has given me great industry contacts. |
