| Introduction | "Divorcee". The word conjures the image of middle-aged women sipping cocktails while being fawned over by attractive gay men. While that's my life on a typical Friday night, this image fails to include the young 20-and-30-somethings who invested every part of themselves for years in their homes and husbands, thought they had love and security, and despite their best efforts, lost all of it and are now older, poorer and struggling with newfound singleness. This blog is about a journey to achieve independence and happiness when life takes a very unexpected turn. It's for anyone who wants to ride along in the sidecar with protective goggles and screech out obscenities or encouraging words, as the mood strikes. |
