| Introduction | I am 44 & I've lived in London all my life, and currently live in Stoke Newington with my partner Carol. I've always been interested in natural history & I began birdwatching about eight years ago. I enjoy learning about birds & their behaviour & have been lucky enough to see some great birds in beautiful British countryside. I consider myself reasonably competent at it although I still make plenty of mistakes! I soon realised that I visited a lot of nature reserves run by various organisations like the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) & I started to look at the amount of work they put in to protecting our wildlife. I very much wanted to be part of that work & give something back so I started volunteering for the RSPB in 2001. It was one of the best decisions I ever made! I concentrate on the people engagement work & I love it. My aim is to introduce as many new birdwatchers to this wonderful hobby as I can. That is why I created my website, I wanted to share my knowledge & experience. |
