Introduction We bought a house and garage on 146 acres in 2001. We had always wanted a country place where we could care for every stray cat, dog, steer, goat, sheep that needed us, but something more happened. After having pet wool sheep for 2 years, I fell in love with tending sheep. However, I did not fall in love with shearing, tail docking, and crutching. I heard about hair sheep, so I hit the internet, did my home work and bought 5 amazing Katahdin ewes in 2003 and the rest is history. The Katahdin has been everything we hoped for and more. I firmly believe it is a breed that will be at the forefront of low cost lamb production. It truly is... A BREED WHOSE TIME HAS COME!
